START YOUR
MENTAL PERFORMANCE JOURNEY
The Lukin Center Sport Mental Health and Performance Program was created to help your athlete train their mind like they train the body, and develop the mental edge.
This isn't therapy; this is mental performance coaching.
When the pressure is on, the mind sets the standard.
The competition isn't training their mind, will you?
4 Ways Mental Performance Coaching Can Help Your Athletes Performance
What Is Mental Performance Coaching?
While both mental performance coaching and
therapy helps athletes navigate how their minds
work, coaching is strictly focused on performance
enhancement. Instead of digging deep into your
athlete’s psyche, our sessions are highly actionable,
equipping athletes with the practical, individualized
mental tools they need to overcome pressure and
elevate their game.
How a coaching session works
Every session is built around you: your sport, your struggle, your goals. Think of it as a class, not a clinic.
Bring a struggle
You arrive with a real performance challenge: nerves before a game, mental blocks, or losing focus under pressure.
Identify a skill
Together we pinpoint the mental skill that addresses your challenge, collaboratively determined, never prescribed.
Build a plan
We create a personalized plan to learn and practice the skill: in the room, on the field, and in competition.
Apply to the game
The skill transfers to real competition. Mental reps become muscle memory so you perform when it counts.
Where the work happens
In the room
Structured sessions combining psychoeducation with hands-on skill work. You learn the mental skill and begin applying it immediately, not just talking about it.
On the practice field
We take sessions outside. Run drills together. Apply mental skills under real training conditions so they work when game day comes.
Sessions happen where the game is played. We work in the room, on the practice field, and inside real drills. There is psychoeducation, but the work is applied. This is not therapy. This is coaching.
